Operations & Supply Chain Management Project

The group project constitutes 25% of your final grade. The general themefor the project is supply chain management (SCM) in the UAE, and its objectiveis to gain familiarity with various supply chain concepts and understand howrelevant they are in the UAE context. Your project should include threemain parts: Part 1: in part 1, you are asked to analyze the sector you havechosen. List all the references from which you get your information. This partincludes the identification of a realcompany based in the UAE on which the project will be based. It is advised thatthe company you choose is the company one of the group members works for. Thismakes it easy to get access to data that will be needed for parts 2 and 3. Part 2: in part 2, you are required to describe the operationalstrategies of the company of your choice, as well as the structure of itssupply chain. Part 3: Based on the analysis conducted in part 2, identify currentissues the organization has and use some of the qualitative and/or quantitativetechniques learned in the Operations Management course to suggest potentialimprovements. Material Due: 1.      Project report: your project reportshould consist of the three parts described above, along with an executivesummary, introduction, recommendations, conclusion, references, and appendices.  2.      Oral presentations: Your team shouldpresent the work you have done and the major results of your study. You shouldpresent Part 1 in about 3 to 5 slides (5minutes max), then focus on your actual work in parts 2 and 3. All membersof a team need to be involved in the presentation, which should not exceed 20minutes in length. A session of questions will follow each presentation.
